If you are eligible for a free flu vaccination you are able to walk-in to one of our flu clinics or pre-book an appointment.

Am I eligible for a free flu vaccination?

You are eligible for a free flu vaccination if you:

• are 65 years of age or over (including those who will be 65 by 31 March 2024)
• have a long-term health condition such as asthma, diabetes, heart disease
• are pregnant
• are a carer
• are in long-stay residential care
• live with someone who is more likely to get a severe infection due to a weakened immune system, such as someone living with HIV, someone who has had a transplant, or is having certain treatments for cancer, lupus or rheumatoid arthritis.

Is my child eligible for a free flu vaccination?

Children’s nasal spray flu vaccine is given to:

• children aged 2 or 3 years of age on 31 August 2023
• all primary school children (reception to year 6)
• children aged 2 to 17 with certain long-term health conditions

Why should I have a flu vaccination?

Flu vaccines save lives – they are safe and effective ways of protecting people at risk of flu and its complications. While flu is unpleasant for most people, it can be dangerous and even life threatening for some people, particularly those with certain health conditions.

The best time to have a flu vaccine is in the autumn before flu starts spreading.
